In our continuing celebration of National Poetry Month, I wanted to share one of my favorite poems. The first line has so many different interpretations, and I think of it often when writing.
Tell All The Truth
Tell all the truth but tell it slant,
Success in circuit lies,
Too bright for our infirm delight
The truth’s superb surprise;
As lightning to the children eased
With explanation kind,
The truth must dazzle gradually
Or every man be blind.
by Emily Dickinson
How about you? What is your favorite poem – either original or otherwise?
