Six Word Memoirs – Writing Workshop

admin    April 4, 2011

Started by SMITH magazine in 2006, the Six Word Memoir began as an amusing exercise and expanded to two books Not Quite What I Was Planning and I Can’t Keep My Own Secrets and an ongoing web archive.

“I’m army boots.  Ready for battle.” – Amanda L.

“Money’s tight; thankfully imagination is free.” – Vanessa E.

“Read Lord of the Flies.  Threw up.” – Jake S.

This National Library Week, WNPL invites you to tell your own story.  Come to our Teens Write workshop to create your own Six Word Memoir on Saturday, April 16th from 2-4pm.  We will post your memoir here at Teen Connections and on our display wall in the Teen area.  REGISTER HERE or by calling the Programming Office at 847-244-5150 ext. 7.
